Biography

Joseph was born about 1879. He is the son of John Dunk and Hannah Milner.

In 1881 censes he was with his parents and grandmother (Eliza Milner, b.1819 in Brocklesby) at Princess Street, Scunthorpe.

In 1901 census Joseph was in Ulceby, next door to his Aunt (Mary Dixon). He was a railway porter - did he work with the husband of his cousin, Fanny Hewitt?

In 1911 Joseph was a railway shunter. He lived at 20 WIllingham Street, Grimsby, with wife, Sarah Ellen Dunk, and 4 children (Nellie, Joseph, WIlfred and Ivy).

In 1939 register Joseph was a "Railway Fish Dept. foreman". He lived at 106 Lambert Road, Grimsby, with his wife, Sarhe E Dunk, 23 Apr 1879, and daughter Vera Dunk, (married name Ward) a shop assistant (dob 2 Feb 1916). Onr other on register, redacted (still living, 2020).
