Gordon Dunlop is an Anzac who served in World War One.
Gordon enlisted in August 1914 and served in the 8th Southland regiment, Otago Infantry Battalion leaving for Egypt in October 1914. He took part in the repluse of the Turks from the Suez Canal in February 1915. He landed at Anzac cove on the 25th April and was wounded 7days later requiring recuperation in England. He returned to the Egypt base of the New Zealand contingent before being killed in action near Gabe Tepe on the 21st of August.
Gordon Dunlop was Killed in Action during World War I.
He had voluntered to fill up the water bottles of his fellow soldiers and was shot in the head. He died on the way down to the beach and was buried on the side of the track in an unmarked grave. [2]. He is memorilised in Chunuk Bair Cemetery, Gallipoli, Çanakkale, Turkey[3]
