Biography

Following the deaths of her parents, Catherine/Helena was adopted by her paternal Aunt Molly and Uncle Michael F. Mallory at the age of ten years. She took the name Lillian Helena Mallory. ^[1] Verified in the 1900 U.S. census when Lillian was living with her aunt and uncle Michael Mallory. ^[2]

HOWEVER, the marriage record to Michael John Prendergast and the baptismal record of her most identifiable son, John Mallory Prendergast, gives her name as Catherine Dunne. ^{[3] [4]}

Due to the discrepancies with Lillian's common versus legal names, finding her death record and burial location has been made more difficult. The date of death in this profile comes from the Prendergast family tree and history compiled by Wm. K. M. Prendergast. ^[5]
