Obituary[1]

The death of Mr. J. R. Durham, of Mt. Tabor section, removed from that community one among its best and most highly respected citizens. Mr. Durham had been ill for some time but was thought by his family and friends to be getting along reasonably well until a few days before his death. He had been afflicted with rheumatism, but his death seemed to have been due chiefly to weakness. Mr. Durham was 55 years old. He was born September 26, 1851, and died February 7, 1907. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, a wife and ten children. He professed faith in Christ in early manhood, and took membership with the Baptist church at Good Hope, in Taylor county. He lived a consistent Christian life, all in all he was a good man and will be greatly missed by his entire community. Further particulars will probably be given elsewhere.
