William (Bill) Ronald Durnan was a professional ice hockey goaltender who played 7 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens from 1943 to 1950. He was a 6-time winner of the NHL's Vezina Trophy for fewest goals allowed and a 2-time winner of the Stanley Cup. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1964.
