Cyrus Lufkin Eastman was born at Weare, NH on 11 June 1822, the fifth of six children born to William Eastman and Sarah Atwood and the only son.
He was a methodist minister. He married five times, but only had one child, a son, by his first wife; Arthur Melville Eastman lived two days short of one year.

A Prominent Methodist.
Rev. Cyrus L. Eastman a retired Methodist clergyman died at his home, 21 Chestnut Street, Chelsea, Friday. He was 78 years old and retired from the ministry when he moved to Chelsea 29 years ago. Mr. Eastman had been ill but a short time and death was caused by the effects of the grip.
Mr. Eastman was a native of Weir [sic], N. H., and spent his early life on a farm. He studied for the ministry and succeeded in gaining admission to a theological academy where he completed his studied. After his ordination he became a preacher on the New Hampshire and Massachusetts circuit.
He was one of the originators of the Asbury Grove Camp Meeting Association and took an active interest in this work, being an officer of the association at the time of his death. He leaves a widow.
The funeral will be held from his late residence Sunday afternoon.[1]

Services Held in Chelsea for the Rev. Cyrus L. Eastman.
The funeral of the Rev. Cyrus L. Eastman, a retired Methodist clergyman, was held yesterday afternoon at his home, 29 Chestnut street, Chelsea. The Walnut Street M. E. Church quarter sang, and the Rev. Charles A. Littlefield, of the Walnut Street Church, read suitable scripture selections. The Rev. N. T. Whitaker, D. D., of the Mt. Bellingham M. E. Church, also read from the scriptures. Mr. Littlefield then spoke on the character and professional accomplishments of Mr. Eastman.
The Rev. E. K. Stratton of Wakefield then gave person reminiscences. The benediction was pronounced by the Rev. Daniel Richards of Wakefield, a very aged man and a life long friend of Mr. Eastman. The burial was at Woodlawn.[2]
Springfield
Rev. Cyrus L. Eastman, the brother-in-law of D. J. and Oliver Marsh, died on Thursday at his home in Chelsea. He had been a Methodist clergyman for many years and during recent years had been in charge of the sailors harbor home in Boston. He was a man nearly 80 years of age, and had a number of friends in this city, as he had visited here on several occasions and preached in several of the local pulpits. He was the stepfather of Mrs. Ralph W. Ellis and George W. Rice, and was a prominent man in the eastern part of the state. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1 in Chelsea.[3]
