He was baptised on 10 October 1841 in Prestwich, Lancashire.[2]
In 1861 Albert was with his widowed mother in Prestwich. His mother was a washer woman; Albert was a blue dyer. [3]
When Albert was about 24 he married Esther Forrest on 18 February 1865 in St Mary's church, Prestwich, Lancashire. [4]
In 1871 Albert was in Prestwich, Lancashire with his wife, 3 children and his brother-in-law. He was a bleacher. .[5]
