From Beverly A Matthews at Genforum: 1888 Goodspeeds of Barry County, Missouri, has a biographigal history of ... George Washington Edens, page 161 and 162, reprint by Litho Printers of Cassville, Missouri. This gives the family history of David EDENS and Elizabeth (HARRIS) EDENS both native Virginians. This record says David was a farmer and hatter by occupation. It also says David EDENS passed away in 1852. By the first marriage of David EDENS, he was the father of two Children, Alia and James. By the marriage to Elizabeth HARRIS he was the father of 7 children, six of them who lived to be grown. Jesse who died and is buried in Ashley, Ill., Lydia who married John Harris and lives near the line between WV and Tennessee, Andrew Jackson, a farmer who lives in Lee Co WV, Henry Harrison, who was killed by a train, and is buried in Ashley, Ill., William Green who was killed in Owsley Co KY, in 1881 by one Collins, Claiborn, a farmer living on the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, and George Washington EDENS, resided in Barry Co MO. It goes on to give the history of George Washington EDENS, married Letha Jane GEORGE, leaving Virginia in 1852, coming to Andrew Co MO, in the autumn of the next year migrated to Perry Co iL. Remaining there until 1875. He then moved to Barry Co MO. Also states they had 5 children, 4 of whom were living, and their names, residences and some of the marriages. Further states Letha Jane GEORGE to be the daughter of James and Deliah GEORGE both native Virginians.
