Mary was born in 1891in Trinity, Texas. She was the daughter of George Edgley and Mary McClanahan. Her mother passed away when she was one year old. Her father died when she was six.
During the 1900 Census, she was living with her maternal grandparents, Hampden and Fannie (Smallwood) McClanahan. She passed away in 1984 and is buried at Resthaven Cemetery, Richland, Benton County, Washington.
