WAIRARAPA DAILY TIMES, 25 FEBRUARY 1928 Mrs Evangeline Epplett aged 72, another old identity of Havelock North, passed away last Monday. Mrs Epplett landed in Napier with her husband in 1877 from the sailing ship Winchester. After living at the Barracks for a time, they moved to Havelock North, where the family lived ever since. Mrs. Epplett survived her husband by over 28 years. The deceased reared a family of 12 children of whom 11 are still living. These are Messrs Archibald Epplett, of Pukaha, and William, Richard and Darcy Epplett all of Havelock North; Mrs Leng, Masterton, Mrs Frank Graham, Mahora, Mrs Kirk, Hastings, Mrs A. Woon, Havelock North, and the Misses Ruth, Eva and Emma Epplett, Havelock North, and Miss Elise Epplett, Papanui, Christchurch. Mrs Epplett, during her long association with the village, was very well known and highly respected by everyone, and to the family will be extended the deepest sympathy in their hour of sorrow. The funeral took place at Havelock North Cemetery, following a service at the house at 2.15, conducted by the Revs. R. Waugh and T. Keith Ewen,
