The 1930 census locates Catherine Boyd living with her husband Van on a farm On and Between Roads Nos 1 and 19, Precinct 6, Leon, Florida, in the household of her widowed mother. She is an unpaid laborer on the farm.^[5]

The 1935 Florida state census locates Catherine living with her three children in the household of her mother.^[6]
