Biography

"Eliza is missing! No amount of searching has found what happened to her. She simply disappeared. The 'Brantford Directory of 1875-1876' lists her as a photographer boarding at Nelson Avenue corner Murray. This location was the new home of James Newbury, 220 Nelson Ave. He is recorded as an artist. This occupation brought Eliza into contact with James Buckley Harpinwho also had an interest in the field of photography. In the same directory "EDY & CO. (James B. Harpin and Jacob E. McMichael), photographers, north side of Colbourne." James was a widower was a widower who was previously married to Ann Burrell and had four surviving children.
Research into the life of Eliza has been difficult after 1881. It is likely that Eliza died sometime after then and before 1883. There is no record of a death registration or listing for her in the Vital Statistics Microfilm. Research for cemetery locations came up empty." [1]
