Biography
James was born on 23 Feb1902, in Granite City, Illinois, the first child of George Elmore Ellis and Edna Mae Elzea. On 06 Jul 1920, at age 18, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps, and served through WWII. He retired with the rank of Major about 1950. He passed away just 6 days before his 86 birthday, on 17 Feb 1988, and is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas,
