Casper was born in 1828 in Germany. He is thought to have immigrated to the United States on 7 May 1852.
He married Katherine Steinhauser around 1860. In 1870, the couple and their two children, Elizabeth and Joseph, were living in Jackson County, Missouri.[1]
In 1880, the couple was living in Washington, Jackson, Missouri. In 1880, the couple was living in Washington, Jackson, Missouri. They had five children at the time of the census: Letha, Joseph, John, Amelia and Charlie. Casper was a farmer.[2]
By 1900, only Amelia was still living at home with her parents in Washington Township, Jackson, Missouri. The family's surname on the census was listed as Manuel.[3]
Casper made a will in 1907 which left everything to his wife Katherine, and made her executor of his will. Upon her death, he wanted Amelia to receive $500, his debts paid, then everything left be divided equally among his 5 children, including Amelia.[4]
He passed away in 1908. The will was probated on 7 Aug 1908. Burial was in the Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery, Lees Summit, Jackson County, Missouri.[5]
