Biography

There is evidence of intermarriage between the Erhardt and Dierdorf(f) families of New York. The book, "The Palatine Families of New York: A Study of the German Immigrants who Arrived in Colonial New York in 1710," in Two Volumes 2; by Henry Z. Jones, 1985 - New York (State) - 1298 pages; lists the Erhardt family on pg 64. Page 215 lists the marriage of Johannes DIERDORF and Margaret ERHARDT. Spouse: Peter Dierdorff 1709–1781 Children: Johannes Dierdorff 1740–1792 Anthony Dierdorff 1747–1806

Anna was born in 1719 in York, York, Pennsylvania, USA. She was the daughter of David Ahardt. This is questionable

When Anna was about 21 she married Peter Deardorff on 22 May 1740 in York, York, Pennsylvania.[citation needed] The couple had 8 children:

  1. Mary Magdalene Deardorff
  2. Amy Dierdorff
  3. Henry Deardorff
  4. Catherine Dierdorff

Mary was mentioned on a memorial in Dierdorff Cemetery, York County, Pennsylvania, USA with a death date of 1786.[1]

Her Find A grave has her as "Ahard"? Both are correct. Usually we go with American version. What do you think?

It should be the last name at birth. If there's a birth or baptism record I'd go with its spelling.

Ahard-1 and Erhart-76 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband. Merge proposal for daughter Catherine. Erhart seems more likely than Ahard if it's a German name.
