Research notes

Anders was a soldier with the soldier name Örn. So was the dead husband of Carin Olsdotter, the family that left for US together with Anders and his family. The dead husbands name was Eric Ersson Örn. It is likely that Anders knew him and had perhaps promised to look after his family.

If he adopted the name Ericsen in US, then where does the name Nygren come from that all the children seems to have adopted?? Why are the children not called Ericsen as well?

His LNAB was really Ersson, the normal name with a father's first name of Eric. He later got the soldier name Örn (Eagle),
