Eric Jansson and his wife Maja Stina Larsdotter had a son 15 July 1838 and named him Eric.[1] In Sweden he will have had the patronymic name Eric Ericsson.
Eric moved with his parents to Forssa parish in Hälsingland in 1844.[2][3] They lived in Lumnäs. From there they "ran away" to America in 1846.[4]
Eric Johnsson is mentioned the article about his father in Svenskt biografiskt lexikon, where it is made clear that he is one of the authors of Svenskarne i Illinois.[5][6] His portrait is on p. 22 in Svenskarne i Illinois and a biography starts on p. 297.
At the time of the census 1870 Eric Johnason lived with his wife Mary O. (Maria Octavia, born Troil) and two children in Galva, Henry, Illinois.[7]
At the time of the census 1880 he was a book publisher in Galva. There were now six children.[8]
