Born n Sweden, he married Klara Christina Johannesdotter and they had two sons born in Sweden, Erik (John), and Karl His wife Kara died in 1882 and son Karl died in 1884.

On May 2, 1994 Lars (Louis) married Maja Kajsa "Maria" Fredriksdotter in Sweden. Maja and Louis had two sons born in Sweden; Karl (Carl), and Oskar (Oscar).

On June 6, 1887 he immigrated to the US to find work. He landed in New York City, found work in a coal mine, moved to Michigan to cut lumber, and then moved to Fond du Lac, Minnesota where he worked in a quarry. Two years after he immigrated, his wife and three sons came to the US.

They lived in Fond Lac, three more children were born there; Emily, Ernest, and Elizabeth.

In 1896 they bought farmland near Sandstone, Minnesota and moved there. They then moved to Danforth, Minnesota.During this time (1897 to 1904) five additional children were born - Olga, Anna, Emil, Edward, and Edner. Anna is the source of much of the Erickson family history informations. Typed family history information is attached.

Lewis passed away in1935 in Fond du Lac, Minnesota and he is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, Wisconsin.
