Biography
Joseph M. Ernat was born in Peru to Vincent and Anna (Twardowski) Ernat. He married on May 2, 1969, in Peru. He was a lifelong farmer in the Dimmick area until his retirement. He was a member of La Salle County Farm Bureau and was living in Waltham before his death.
Joseph died at 5:25 a.m. Jan. 28, 2001, in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.
Note: I did not locate Joseph on the 1940 U.S. Census - he is not listed in the household with his parents and several siblings. A search for a Joseph E* born in Illinois, living as a boarder or lodger or hired hand, or with occupation 'farmer' came up with no matches. He was farming on his own in rural Utica when he registered for the draft on 1 Jul 1941.
