Research Notes
In 1870, Clara's husband is Aaron Evans born 1824 in Maryland, and in 1880, Clara's husband is Henry Evans born 1833 in West Virginia. Unclear if this is the same man with an uncertain birth place and year or two successive marriages, maybe to brothers. Assuming he's one and the same for now. It's not uncommon for southern blacks - especially those born into slavery - to be uncertain of their birth place or birth year around this time due to anti-literacy laws, slavery and the inhumane practice of enslavers separating children from their parents by auctioning children or parents off for profit without any concern for keeping families together.

Alas, I don't think the 1st NY Light Artillery record is a match. From what I can tell, the 1st NY was a white regiment, and this Aaron / Henry was black.
