Biography

Richard Charles (Tim) Evans-Lombe 1922-1940) was the son of Lt. Col-Charles Evans Lombe and his second wife Evelyn Gaitskell Burr.
He joined the Royal Navy where he gained the rank of Midshipman.
He was killed in action on board H.M.S. Norfolk (a County-class heavy cruiser of the Royal Navy) , when on the 16 March 1940 she recieved serious bomb damage resulting from a heavy air raid by a Luftwaffe bomber unit at Scapa Flow.
He is buried in the Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery, Lyness, Orkney Islands, Scotland.
