Christian (Evensen) Glestad was born in Norway

Christian Evensen Glestadeie.[1][2][3] Christian was born on Saturday 10 December 1864 in Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway.[4] He was baptised on Sunday 1 January 1865 in Veldre, Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway.[5]

He was recorded as living with his parents and older siblings Karen, Syverine, Even and Agnethe in the 1865 census at at Sveum farm Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway. He was recorded as being 2 years old.[6] He presumably lived with his parents in at Sørum farm near the town of Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway, on 1 June 1867. Their children were also likely living with them.[7]

At the age of 5 Christian emigrated from Christiania (now Oslo), Norway, on 27 April 1870 on the "Josephine" with his family.[8][9] Christian arrived at Quebec, Canada, on 22 June 1870 with his family.[10][11]
