He had seven siblings, namely: Frances Annie, William Lawrence, Cicely Margaret, Mary Constance, Edith Catherine, Vincent Callistus, and Joseph Kevin. He died on 17 Nov 1976^[2] in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. When he was 35, he married Mary Ellen Wilkes, daughter of Ferdinand John Wilkes and Margaret Mary Josephine McCaul, on 03 Oct 1938^[3] in Queensland, Australia.
