Hugh Falconer was born in 1743 in Foynesfield, Auldearn. Foynesfield is the site of St. Ninian's Well. The family seemed to have moved to Wester Logie, Belivat in Ardclach parish in the early 1770s, (wikitree Falconer-998 and Lethen images). Paul McKee Gifford in "Falconer of Halkerton" says that the connection of this family to the main branch "has not been established".
Robert Falconer was a grandson of Hugh Falconer in Foynesfield.
"David Falconer of Grieshop born 1703, was a grandson of Bishop Colin Falconer. He married Isabella Dunbar and had a daughter Emilia. Robert Falconer above, (1752-1823) sheriff-substitute of Nairn writes that she was a "beautiful and accomplished woman"".
David Falconer also had a "natural" son James, (wikitree Falconer-1001).
Hugh was born about 1740.
Hugh Falconer married Helen Rose in the parish of Ardclach, Nairn on 25 March 1765.[1] Banns for the couple were also published in the parish of Auldearn, Nairn on 11 March 1765.[2]
