Baptismal Record from St. Francis Church in Natchitoches, La
Father Barnabe, Capuchin
The following excerpts are from Jerry D. and Debbie Heitzmann, descendants of Francois Favre, who researched this family for 45 years.[2]
Marianne was still alive on May 2, 1801 which was the marriage dare of her son, Pierre Fayard, to Susanne Carco. The record states that "Pierre Fayard, native of this parish, legitimate son of majority age of the deceased Jean Fayard and Francoise Fizau, with the consent of his mother on one part." The record says the marriage took place on "the Biloxi coast" and is recorded at the Cathedral in Mobile, Alabama, Marriage Book 1, page 91b.
Some time after she married Etienne Parrache in 1781, Marianne moved from New Orleans to the area that is now known as Bay St. Louis, Mississippi where she made a land claim there. This claim consisted of 639 acres that she made her home on. In 1859 her heirs filed a lawsuite in Hancock County (case #20 Bernard Bourgeois, et als vs Christian Harold, and cases #11, and #241) over ownership rights. These suites also names her heirs as of 1859. Her property was known as the "Mary Parrish Claim" and I have scanned a copy of an old land plat of her property into the Memories section of her page. Following settlement of the suite, the land was recorded in Hancock County Deed Book D, pages 301 - 308. I have also scanned in parts of this deed and suite.
