Eliza Brown Fell was born in Bloomington, Illinois on 6 Sep 1842. She was the daughter of Jesse Fell and Hester Brown. She married William Osborne Davis, the publisher of The Pantagraph newspaper, in 1863. She was the mother of three children; Hibbard O. Davis, Helen Louise (Davis) Stevenson, and Jessie Fell (Davis) Merwin. She died from complications of surgery in San Antonio, Texas on 21 Jan 1900.
