Research Notes
Additional bio information, Moses mentioned in the Find A Grave Memorial of Margaret Robinson Findley:
She married Moses Fendley about 1787.
Moses Fendley and wife Margaret Robinson/Robertson were among the charter members of Peters Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Some researchers believe Margaret was a sister of the first pastor, Rev. Allen P. Robinson (Find A Grave Memorial# 38826823), who was the son of Robert Robinson and Lucretia Abernathy; grandson of John Robinson and Mary Evans. Rev. Robinson married Catherine Whitmire. Researcher Rosemary Harris, a descendant of both Margaret Robinson Fendley and Rev. Allen Robinson, said there is a good possibility this is correct but found no documentary proof. DNA results show that some other descendants of Margaret R. Fendley but who are not descendants of Allen Robinson, are still a match to other Abernathy descendants.
An early family history states that Margaret was born near Jamestown, Virginia, but if she was the daughter of Robert Robinson she was probably born in North Carolina.
Peters Creek Baptist Church Records:1832 8 July Margaret Fendley a member of this church departed this life July 7, 1832.
There is no readable marker for Margaret Fendley at St. Peter's Church today. She possibly could be buried in a lost family graveyard on their plantation or in the Whitmire family cemetery not far away.
