Richardson indicates that William Ferrers, 3rd baron Ferrers, and his wife, Margaret de Ufford had one son, Henry, 4th Lord Ferrers of Groby and two daughters, Elizabeth (a nun), and Margaret. Julianne is not listed as a daughter. Ref: Magna Carta Ancestry: A Study in Colonial and Medieval Families, 2nd Edition, 2011, Richardson, Douglas, Page 298.

I have Julianne as a daughter of William Ferrers b 1333 and Margaret de Ufford b 1330. Wikipedia states this union produced two daughters but does not name them.

Granted the parents should be disconnected but I am not pre 1500 qualified.

Generally children are born within 20-30 yrs after the birth of their parents. William was born 1240 (if correct) so his children should be born beginning abt 1260. That also means that a death date of 1370 is also very unlikely. Lifespans in the 13th century were considered long at 50 years much less 110. This William Ferrers is not her father unless the dates are seriously wrong. Only two choices to fixing this one. Disconnect the parental relationship or find sources that correct the dates and support this relationship :)

At any rate I think we can agree that William Ferrers b 1240, can not be her father. Such an obvious error should be corrected.

There is not a Julianne Ferrers in Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry at all. (Just finished multiple searches with various spellings & turned up nothing close to this family - i.e., Joan Longueville, John or Elizabeth Seyton, or Roger Gifford/Giffard).

If you mean Ferrers-27, you'd still need to find some support for her being his daughter.

There is a grandson William Ferrers that fits better. I have seen people pick the wrong person because he has the same name before so I wouldn't be surprised.

Just a quick question. What kind of sources would support the birth of a child that occurred 55 years after their father died ? Is it just me that thinks this relationship may be questionable ?
