In would appear that in November 1833 he was in Aberdeen. Perhaps he did not come out to the colony with his parents? Ref The Perth Gazette 16/11/1833.
As an infant and upon the death if his father he inherited 2700 acres on land on the Canning River but this was surrendered by his Guardian and step father William Alfred Manning on 26/12/1839.
On 21 Oct 1840 C H Manning (his step father's brother) purchased 640 acres being Location No 12 in Cockburn Sound for 384 pounds in his name.
On 1 April 1841 he forfeited Perth Lot C14 for non performance of the conditions of assignment.
On 1 Sept 1841 he was granted 46 acres on the Canning.
On 2 March 1842 he was granted Fremantle Lots 285 1/2 and 372.
