Amelia (Fidler) Simpson was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Métis Nation.
Amelia Fidler was born circa 1839 to Charles Fidler and Ann Saunders. Baptism took place at St. Johns, Red River on 14 Apr 1839.[1]
Amelia married John MacKenzie Simpson (son of George Simpson and Marguerite Taylor) at St. James on 29 Aug 1859.[2]
At the time of the 1870 census of Manitoba, their family was enumerated at Headingley.[3]
On 12 Aug 1875, Amelia signed an affidavit claiming Métis scrip, which was issued on 20 Sep 1876.[4]
At the time of the 1881 and 1891 censuses, Amelia and John were enumerated with their children at the Selkirk district of Manitoba.[5][6]
She passed away at Louise, Manitoba on 28 Jul 1900.[7]
