Biography

Henry John Files was born about 1848, probably in Somerset, England, where his parents married in 1846. He is the son of John Files and Jane Skeate. ^[1]

Emigration to Australia. at age 5, arriving in South Australia in 1852. After his sister Fanny's birth in 1855, they moved to the Colony of Victoria.

DEATHS

FILES.-On the 18th June, at Alfred Hospital, Henry, dearly loved husband of the late Emily Files, of Northcote, loving father of George, Edwin, Emma (Mrs. Fisher), John, Louisa (Mrs. Yates), Alice (Mrs. Torpy), Walter, Arthur, and Harold, in his 83rd year. ^[4]

Henry is buried at Coburg Cemetery with both his wives., Bapt A 196. ^[5]
