Ellen Finnane was born about 1846 in Tipperary, Ireland. Her father's name was William Finnane.^[1]

She married Patrick Cashin (Cashen) labourer, both full age from Ballingarry, on 18 November 1865 at the Roman Catholic Chapel at Ballingarry, County Tipperary. Fathers Martin Cashen (brick maker) and William Finnane (labourer). ^{[2] [3][1]}

They had the following children:

The 1901 Census of Ireland shows Ellen Cashin, age 47, living at Cooldine in Killenaule, Tipperary.^[4] Her religion is Roman Catholic, and she can neither read nor write. Also in the household are her husband, Patrick, age 50; a son, Michael, age 25; a daughter, Johanna Gleeson, age 20; and Johanna's son, John Gleeson, age 1.

Ellen Cashin, nee Finnane, died on 9 February 1909.^[5]

Research Notes

Based on her age in the death record, I've estimated her birth year to be about 1846. Looking through the local church records, there are a number of people named Ellen Finnane who were born between 1840 and 1850, but none of them have a father named William. While the transcript says that her father's name was William, the only thing listed in the church records were the witness names (John Mahoney and Mary Lindale?).
