George Finney was born in Yorkshire, England.

George was born about 1872. [1]He was the son of Charles Finney and Rachel Cusworth, and was born on 10 March 1872 and baptised on 23 June 1872 in Methley, St Oswald, Yorkshire. The family were living in Methley and his father was a Weighman. [2]

George lived with his family in Methley in 1881 [3] and Leeds in 1891 when at the age of 19 was working as a Locksmith's Packer. [4]

George married Lucy Hartley on 13 April 1898 in Burmantofts, St Agnes, Yorkshire, [5] [6]. They remained living in Leeds and they had one son Charles Oscar Finney in 1901. [7] [8]

George (age 44) died in 1917 and was buried on 20 January 1917 in Rothwell, Holy Trinity, Yorkshire, England. Abode given as Wakefield Road, Stourton, Leeds. [9] His death (age 44) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1917 in the Leeds district.[10]
