Biography

Harvey grew up on Laurel Street in Tremont, Schuylkill County. By 1920, he lived with his parents and siblings- Lucy, Ruth, Thelma, Mabel, and Walter.

The highest grade attended was 8th grade. Called “Pap” married to Laura Horley. Had 5 children- Donald, William, Harvey, Barbera, and Sandy.

At 32 years old, Harvey registered for the draft of WWII in 1940. Listed as being 5’5” and 158 pounds, with Brown eyes and Brown, balding hair. He had a “Ruddy” complexion. Pap was working for S.P. Miller & Sons plumbing that year.

By 1940, they were renting the Pine Street house for $7/mo with children Donald & Barbara. His income was $1560 having worked all year.

By 1950, Harvey, 42, made $3435 in 1949 as a plumber with a Heating and Plumbing company with his eldest son, Donald making $2283 as a plumbers assistant. Laura, 41, Donald, 19, Barbara ,13, Harvey, 9, William, 7, Sandra, 4, and Minnie Horley, 66, mother-in-law, were all living in this household.

Died on May 12, 1965. He is buried at Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and united together with Laura after her death.
