Charles was born in 1878, the son of Samuel Fittall and Ellen Hooper.[1]
He served in the NZ Army in the First World War, Service No. 15354.[2]
He was killed in action on 2 March 1917 in Belgium and was buried in Berks Cemetery Extension, Hainaut, Belgium.[3][4]
His death was registered in 1918.[5]
