Ellen was born in 1840. She passed away in 1890.
Nellie was born circa 1841. She was a daughter of Dr. R.W. Fitton of Carlisle, New Brunswick.[1]
At the age of 13, she went to live with her aunt, the wife of Senator Ferguson of Bathurst.[2]
She married Robert Carr-Harris, C.E. on December 29, 1873 at St Luke's, Bathurst, Gloucester County, New Brunswick.[3][1]
After their marriage, the couple resided at Somersetvale Bathurst, a 2000-acre estate. Robert Carr-Harris became a business man running a sawmill at the mouth of Carter's Brook on the west side of the Bathurst Harbour.[2]
By 1879, the family was residing in Kingston, Ontario where Robert was a professor of civil engineering at Royal Military College of Canada and afterward professor of general engineering at Queen's University.[2]
Nellie passed away on February 23, 1890 in Kingston.[1] She was interred there at the Cataraqui Cemetery.[2]
