A party of 256 from London led by Lieutenant John BAILIE, R.N. sailed in "Chapman". The Chapman sailed from Gravesend on 3 December 1819; she was the first of the settler ships to anchor in Algoa Bay on 10 April 1820. The party was escorted by the Landdrost of Uitenhage, Colonel Cuyler, to its location at the mouth of the Great Fish River. Sixty-four one-acre lots were measured for a village which was named Cuyler Town (later Cuylerville).
It is mentioned in the Lower Albany Chronicles that on 3(1) August 1831:[2][3][4]
James, son of Timothy Flanegan was married at Bathurst by the Reverend George Porter to Ann, daughter of Richard Hully. Witnesses were Richard and Sarah Hulley.

James was 75 years old when he passed away on 17 August 1893 at Balfour, Cape Colony.[5][6]
