James Fleming - Will Transcript- 4 Nov 1822 (Madison County, Kentucky)

November 4th 1822 In the name of God Amen – I James Fleming being at this time in perfect sound mind do make this my last will and testament. First I want all my lawful debts paid. Second I want all my estate real and personal to be divided off in the following manner. I give unto my beloved wife Mary Fleming all my estate both real and personal during her life excepting the following property. First I give unto my son Joshua Fleming one gray horse four years old last spring – also I give unto my son Peter Fleming one sorrel horse colt one year old last spring. And unto my son James Fleming I give one bay mare colt about six months old. My son Robert Fleming may receive the sum of fifty eight dollars also my daughter Betsy Robberts may receive the sum of thirty one dollars. When my three daughters that is now single Rebecca Fleming, Ester Fleming & Penelope Fleming shall marry or leave their mothers home I want them to have the sum that Betsy Roberts has now received which is one saddle at twenty three dollars and one ??? at ten dollars at the death of my wife. I want all my estate both real and personal to be equally divided among all my children Rebecca, Ester, Robert, Betsy, Penelope, Joshua, Peter and James. I wish my wife Mary Fleming and Lawrence Roberts to execute this my last will. I want no appraisements on any of my property after my decease during the life of my wife.
