DNA Confirmation Statement

  • Paternal relationship is confirmed through Y-chromosome DNA testing. Anonymous5 Fleming, Relative Genetics kit #98539, his 3rd cousin 3 times removed, Andrew Lee Fleming, Relative Genetics kit #99418, great grandson of Ivy Fleming, match at a Genetic Distance of 0 on 43 markers thereby confirming their direct paternal lines back to their MRCA David Fleming 1751. TMRCA calculation indicates that the probability the two share a common ancestor approximately 95% within the last 7.4 generations. As David Fleming 1751 is a grandson of John Fleming 1671, both share John Fleming 1671 as a common ancestor.
  • Paternal relationship is confirmed through Y-chromosome DNA testing. John Calvin Fleming, Jr., Relative Genetics kit #35236, his 7th cousin once times removed, Andrew Lee Fleming, Relative Genetics kit #99418, great grandson of Ivy Fleming, match at a Genetic Distance of 1 on 43 markers thereby confirming their direct paternal lines back to their MRCA David Fleming 1751. TMRCA calculation indicates that the probability the two share a common ancestor approximately 95% within the last 11.7 generations. As David Fleming 1751 is a grandson of John Fleming 1671, both share John Fleming 1671 as a common ancestor.

TMRCA calculation indicates that the probability the two share a common ancestor approximately 95% within the last 19 generations. As David Fleming 1751 is a grandson of John Fleming 1671, both share John Fleming 1671 as a common ancestor.

DNA

  • Value of 13 at DYS 439 and 18 at DYS 458

Known descendants of John Fleming 1671 Ireland. Anonymous6 Fleming, son of Stephen Fleming, (direct descendant of John Fleming 1671 Ireland through his son, Alexander Fleming 1711 Ireland) and Anonymous7 Fleming, son of Leslie Fleming, (through his grandson William Fleming 1717 Ireland) tested in the (now discontinued) Relative Genetics Fleming yDNA study and matched 42/43 (41/43 to each other) with John Calvin Fleming, Jr.. Anonymous3 Fleming, a likely descendant of John Fleming 1671 through John Fleming 1775 his grandson, matched John Calvin Fleming, Jr. 40/43. All three were haplogroup R1b (now R-M269). Anonymous5 Fleming participated in the (now discontinued) Relative Genetics Fleming yDNA study as well. He is a direct descendant of John Fleming 1671 IRE through David Fleming 1751 NC through Ivy Fleming 1813 Pitt, NC. He was a 40/43 marker match for John Calvin Fleming, Jr, a direct descendant of James Fleming 1760 MD and a 43/43 match to Andrew Lee Fleming, great grandson of Ivy Fleming 1813 Pitt, NC. Both were haplogroup R1b (now R-M269).

Anonymous6 Fleming, son of Stephen Fleming and Anonymous7 Fleming, son of Leslie Fleming are calculated to be seventh cousins twice removed with John Fleming 1671 Ireland as their most recent common ancestor. Anonymous5 Fleming and Andrew Lee Fleming are third cousins three times removed with David Fleming noted to be their most recent common ancestor. However, David Fleming is recorded as grandson to John Fleming 1671 Ireland. Therefore all relevant subjects tested confirm John Fleming 1671 Ireland as a common ancestor.
