On 24 July, 1423, James Douglas, lord of Balvany, and overlord of the barony of Aberdour, granted to his kinsman, 'William Torbace, lord of Kynnaldy, the lands of Glasloch, and other lands with the mill of Bulgne, and the quarry of Culburty, with the pertinents in the barony of Aberdour, resigned by William Fraser, lord of Philorth, in favour of William Forbes, and Agnes, his wife, the daughter of William Fraser, [1]
On 24 Sep. 1423 , John earl of Buchan, Constable of France chamberlain of Scotland, and lord of the barony of Kynedwart, granted the Iands of the lord- ship of Philorth, namely, Philorth, Kyrkton, Carnebulg, Invernoth, Ardglassy, Ardmakoni, Kynhulg, Kynglasscr, mill of Philorth, Carnywhyng, Little Brecok, Brecokmore, mill of Busk, in the barony of Kinedwart, to William Fraser of Philorth and his heirs male, whom failing, to William Forbes of Kynnaldy and Agnes his wife, the daughter of the said William Fraser, and the heirs of their bodies, whom failing, to the heirs whomsoever of the said William Fraser. On 6 November following, the same Earl granted to William Forbes of Kynnaldy and his wife, and to the heirs of the said \\ illiam's body, whom failing, to Sir Alexander Forbes, knight, the lands of Carnywhyng, Brekor Mhor, and Little Brekor, resigned in their favour by William Fraser of Philorth.[2]
William "1st of Kinaldie" Forbes married Agnes Fraser, daughter of William "2nd of Philorth" Fraser and Elenor Douglas[3] after the contract date of July 24, 1423 and they had at least the following children:
At Aberdeen on 12 Aug 1424, William Fraser, lord of Philorth granted a charter to William Forbes of Kynnaldie, and to his wife. Agnes, the granter's daughter, and to their heirs of the body of the said William Forbes, whom failing, to Sir Alexander of Forbes, knight, lord of Forbes, etc., of the lands of Glaslach, Culeaok, Tuliuamolt,' Nethir Bulgny, Over Bulgny, Middlemast Bulguy, Auchlun, Petslegach (Pitsligo), Auchmacludy, with the mill of Bulguy and the quarry of Culburty,in the barony of Aberdour, to be held of James of Douglas, lord of Balveny and of Aberdour.Illustrations of the [4]
On 6 Nov 1428, John, earl of Buchan and constable of France, granted precept to infeft William Forbes of Kinnaldie in the lands of Camywhingie, Brekor Mhor, and Little Brekor, in the barony of Kinedward. [5]
Sir William "1st of Kinaldie" Forbes died at the Battle of Arbroath in Jan 1445/46.
Sir William 's wife Agnes Fraser survived him.
