Biography

William was born in 1837. He is the son of Maize Foster and Sarah Unknown. William Henry was born in Missouri probably in Benton County. He moved with his family to Texas in 1841 where his father surveyed in Fannin and Collin Counties. Texas has won his independence from Mexico, and the land was open to settlers. William 's father surveyed and maintained 640 acres along Rowlett Creek in the Weston area of Collin County, Texas. William married the daughter of Peter Stigall and his first wife. W. H.'s sister, Nancy P. Foster had married Peter Stigall. After the Foster children were left without either of their parents they went to live with Nancy and Peter.
