Peter M. Franklin was born 14 Sep 1840^[1] in Onondaga County, New York^[2] to Jonathan Franklin and Polly Near/Neal.^{[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]}

He was a private in Company B, 1st Minnesota Artillery for 9 months in 1864 in the Minnesota Grand Army of the Republic.^[14]

He married Cornelia Woodle on 05 Aug 1860 in FIllmore County, Minnesota^{[15][4][1][5][6][7][9][10][12][13]} and the couple had the following known children:
