Biography

Flag of Northamptonshire (adopted 2014)
Mary (French) Buzby was born in Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire, England.

Mary was the 6th daughter of Thomas French and Jane Atkins. c: 8 Aug 1675 in Nether Heyford, Northampton, England

Brothers Nicholas Buzby and Richard Buzby married sisters Mary French and Hannah French in a double Quaker ceremony in Burlington, New Jersey, Chesterfield Quaker Meeting in Burlington, New Jersey, on August 30, 1695.

Nicholas and Mary French Buzby remained in the Burlington New Jersey area on French family lands and established their family there and Richard and Hannah French Buzby returned to the original Buzby homestead lands near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and established their family there.

Nicholas died 1727, and Mary died 1728, both leaving wills. Nicholas Busby was a son of John Busby, weaver, of Milton, in the Parish of Shipton, belonging to Friends' Meeting, Milton, England. He came with a certificate to Philadelphia, 4-2 mo., 1682, and is, no doubt, the John who settled at Rancocas, Burlington County, New Jersey.

A great deal of research seems to have been done on the Nicholas (New Jersey) Buzby family and very little on the Richard (Pennsylvania) Buzby family.
