Biography

Josef was born 21 Aug 1912 in Handschuhsheim, Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland.

Josef immigrated to the United States before 9 March 1934 as this is the date on which he signed an oath of allegiance to the United States in the Southern District of New York City.[1] He also shows on a ship register on 22 August 1934 when he took ship on the SS Stuttgart in Bremen for New York City. He was a mechanic.[2]

Josef entered service in the United States Army on 21 July 1943 and was honorably discharged on 21 February 1945.
