On 1 January 1920, Lester (age 14) lived in a rented home at 207 North Railroad Ave in Fredericktown, Madison, Missouri. He was with his parents and 5 siblings. His father and brother James both worked as miners in the local cobalt mine and Lester drove a mule team for a private employer, most likely in the lumber industry.[4][5]

About 1929, he married Elva Irene Bockenkamp and it is not believed they had children.
He would later marry Mildred Marie (Newcomer) Fryman (1922-2007).
On 10 April 1930, Lester (age 25) and his wife were living in a home they rented for $12 a month which was located on Church St in Bonne Terre, Perry Township, St. Francois, Missouri. He was working as a motor man in the lead mine.[6][7]

On 1 April 1940, Lester (age 35) and his wife were living in a home they owned that was valued at $700. It was located at 201 Fifth St., Flat River, St. Francois, Missouri. He was still working as a motor man in the lead mines and in the prior year, he had earned $1350.[8][9]

Lester registered for the draft on 16 October 1940 in Flat River, St Francois, Missouri. It is stated that his complexion was "Ruddy", his eyes were "Brown", "Black" hair, and a height of 5' 11". At this time, he was employed by St Joseph Lead Co.[10]
On 1 April 1950, Lester (age 45) was in Flat River, St. Francois, Missouri. He was with his wife. He was the owner and operater of a filling station. Along with his wife, her parents also lived with him.[11]

He died on 20 September 1972 at the age of 67, in Potosi, St Francois, Missouri, United States.[1][12] He was buried in the Saint Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre, Missouri[13][14]
L.D. (Shine) Fryman of Bonne Terre was born March 18,1905 in Fredericktown the son of the late Charles Fryman and Celia Hargin(sp Hargis) Fryman and died September 20th at WAshington County memorial Hosital in Potosi. He was 67 years of age.
Surviving are: his widow Mildred Newcomer Fryman of Bonne Terre; two step children (Donna (Mrs. Michael Hammond) of Centralia, Illinois and bradley White of Bonne Terre; three brothers, Lee Fryman of Flat River, James Fryman of Esther and Elza Fryman of Desloge; one sister Sylvia (Mrs. Henry Lix) of Desloge; six step grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother.
He was a member of the Flat RiverBaptist Church.
Chapel service will be Saturday 2 pm with the Rev. Ray Schillinger officiating. Interment will be in the St. Francois Memorial Park.
The body will be in state at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, North Main, Desloge.
