"Archy" was born about 1830 and living with his mother Polly and siblings in The District of Edgefield, South Carolina on the 1850 Census. He was working in the "Agriculture" industry as a "Farmer.[1][2] On the 1860 Census, "A" is married with 3 young children living in the West Creek post office area of Saluda Regiment, Edgefield, South Carolina.

Death
According to an eyewitness report in the newspaper article regarding his military regiment he died during camp in 1864[6] and he is either buried at Mount Ebal Baptist Church Cemetery in Batesburg, Aiken County, South Carolina.[7] Or buried at Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor, Aiken County, South Carolina.
