Funk passed away Saturday evening, Sept 8th 1945 at the home of his uncle, Charles Agee, west of Scio, at the age of 57 years, 8 months, and 12 days. His health had been poor for several years and he had only a few months ago returned from Arizona where he had stayed for about 18 months in the hope of improving his condition. His fatal illness overtook him a week prior to his demise. Graveside services were held at the Miller cemetery, northeast of town on Tuesday Sep 11 at two P.M., in charge of the Fisher Funeral Home of Albany, and conducted by Rev. Gordon Jaffe of Albany. He was born Dec 27 1887 at McMinnville and spent his earlier life at that place. For the past 20 years he had resided near Scio, selling his farm just prior to his going to Arizona last year. After the death of his mother several years ago he had made his home a good deal with his uncle, Mr. Agee. He had always been occupied in farming. Relatives surviving are his niece, Mrs. Lila R. Baker, now of Phoenix, Arizona, who was raised in the Funk home here as a sister to him; the uncle, Charles Agee, and cousins: Guy Funk, Wilbur Funk and Mrs. Ida (M.O.) Arnold, all of or near this place. Sep 13 1945 issue Scio Tribune. (two spellings of Ivan/Ivin).
