Biography

Jeremiah Fyler was born about 1713 in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut Colony.

Jeremiah (24) married Jerusha (Kelsey) Fyler (7) (born in 1730; daughter of William Kelsey and Rebecca (Messenger) Kelsey) on 29 June 1738 in Windsor, Hartford.[1] Their known daughter was Cynthia (Fyler) Hayden (<1747–1835).

Jeremiah died about February 1776 in Windsor, Hartford, aged about 62.

Family

CHILDREN OF ZERUBBABLE 2-4 son of Zerubbable 1-2 son of Walter l Fourth Generation.[2]

  • 2-4--4 Jerimiah son of Zerubbable and Rachel Gillett born 1714 in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He lived and died in Bloomfield. He enlisted in the 7th Co. under Capt Seth King, April 21, discharged December 1, 1761 in the First Regiment under Major General Phineas Lyman, the French War. He married Jerusha Kelsey June 29, 1738 of Hartford, Connecticut. She was born February 14, 1720 the daughter of William and Rebecca Messenger Kelsey. William and Rebecca were cousins. William was the son of Stephan and Hannah Ingersol Kelsey. He was born February 19, 1684. Stephan married Hannah November 15, 1672. She was the daughter of John and Dorothy Lord Kelsey.

Stephan was born November 7, 1647 and died November 30, 1710, he was the son of William and Bertha Kelsey. William and Bethia's eldest son Mark was born about 1628 in England married first Rebecca Hoskins. She was the daughter of John Hoskins and Ann Filer (the sister of Walter Fyler (1)). Mark and Rebecca had a daughter Rebecca born January 2, 1659/60 married April 5, 1678 at Windsor to Nathaniel Messenger. He was born June 18, 1651 the son of Edward Messenger. It was their daughter Rebecca born February 11, 1685 and died January 1, 1756/7 that married William Kelsey, her cousin, the parents of Jerusha Kelsey.[2]

Jerimiah Fyler died February 1776 in Bloomfield and Jerusha died February 1776. They had twelve children:[2]

  1. 2-4-4-1 Jerusha born January 30, 1739 in Bloomfield. She married Thomas Gould. She died March 27, 1769.
  2. 2-4-4-2 Clyminia born February l, 1742 in Bloomfield.
  3. 2-4-4-3 Roger born May 3, 1743 in Bloomfield.
  4. 2-4-4-4 Cynthia born December 27, 1747.
  5. 2-4-4-5 Rachel born June 19, 1745 married a Mr. Reynolds.
  6. 2-4-4-6 Silvia born March 29, 1750.
  7. 2-4-4-7 Ulysses born January 11, 1752 bpt. January 19, 1752.
  8. 2-4-4-8 Paris born April 26, 1754.
  9. 2-4-4-9 Norman born May 13, 1756.
  10. 2-4-4-10 Annis born October 12, 1758 married Augustine Hyde.
  11. 2-4-4-11 Ambrqse born January 15, 1761.
  12. 2-4-4-12 Horace born January 19, 1765
  13. 2-4-5 Samual son of Zerubbable and Rachel Gillett born 1715 in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He was a farmer. He married October 11, 1739, Ann Stroughton. She was born June 3, 1719 the daughter of Isrial and Mary Birge Stroughten. Ann died December 1, 1784. Samuel died July 20, 1797. They had four Children:
  14. 2-4-5-1 John bapt. August 10, 1740.
  15. 2-4-5-2 Ann born November 18, 1741 in Windsor, married September 29, 1763 to Nathaniel Hayden of Windsor. He was born 1738. Ann died January 16, 1776 age 35. Nathaniel married second Rhoda Lyman, she died April 24, 1834 age 80. Nathaniel died May 7, 1795 age 57.
  16. 2-4-5-3 Amy born January 5, 1745 died unmarried April 11, 1794 of billious disorders, age 48.
  17. 2-4-5-4 Elizabeth born October 26, 1750.

  5. Ambrose son of Jeremiah Filer and Jerusha wife b. Jan. 15, 1751.
  6. Horace son of Jeremiah Filer and Jerusha his wife b. Jan. 19, 1765.


Jeremiah was born about 1714. He passed away about 1776.
