Biography

The daughter of James . Gambrell III and Nancy (Butler) Gambrell, Jane Gambrell was born in Wayne County, Tennessee[citation needed] residing with her family in Wayne County's Civil District 11.[1]

Jane married Robert Caperton, marrying in Wayne County, Tennessee on October 13, 1897,[2] having five known children together. She and her family farmed, making their home in 1900 in Wayne County's Civil District 12,[3] in Collinwood, Tennessee,[4] and in Wayne County's Civil District 7.[5][6] Widowed in 1946, Jane lived, in 1950, in Wayne County, with two of her grandchildren, Ethel Marie Caperton and Frank Caperton, jr., in her household.[7]

Elizabeth Jane Caperton passed away in rural Lawrence County, Tennessee[8] at the age of 77 and is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wayne County, Tennessee.[9]
