Biography

"John Ganz served time in Baltimore at the same time that Francis Scott Key was in Baltimore overlooking Ft. McHenry and writing The Star Spangled Banner. He stayed in Gettysburg for awhile after the family moved to Licking County, Ohio."

John was married twice:

1. Anna M. Barnhiser, Sept. 16, 1819 in Pennsylvania. She died in 1847.
2. Nancy Kerr, Oct. 10, 1848, Wyandot, Ohio

Children with Barnhiser:

1. George Henderson (1822–1916) - m. Eliza Jane Cunningham (his death certificate)
2. Mary A. E. (1829–1893) - m. James Turner
3. Unknown Daughter (1828–1837) ????
4. Angeline M. (1838–1903) - m. Amos D. Nichols
